GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The works, as described, requires the services of professional service providers in the categories of skills and knowledge as specified below. This assignment will be in terms of a framework agreement entered into and a service level agreement will be signed with the service provider for a period of 6 months.
The client will be the Western Cape Department of Agriculture.
The categories of services required are:
- Engineering (Agriculture) – Technical knowledge and experience with regards to the design of irrigation lines.
- Irrigation (Civil/Agricultural) – Technical knowledge and experience in installing irrigation lines.
Conditions that may pose a risk: (Summary of Risk analysis)
This project is to be executed in an agricultural environment close to the town of Ebenhaeser. The risks involved are those associated with working close to a community, near a public road, as well as on a farm. These will include measures to ensure pedestrians, farm workers, infrastructure and community property is protected.
The scope of works will include:
1. The design, supply and installation of drip and sprinkler irrigation mainlines for tomatoes and lucerne respectively.
In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, this bid as further indicated in CBD 5.1 is subject to:
- a functionality compliance test;
- B-BBEE certified bids will receive preferential scores;
The successful bidder will be required to fill in and sign a written Contract Form (CBD 8). Included are a penalty clause of R 500/calendar day that apply for late completion of works and a 10% retention fee for 3 months not bearing interest.
BID DEADLINE: The closing date for the bid is 26 June 2023 strictly at 12H00.
SUBMISSION OF BIDS:
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder and the inscription “EBENHAESER IRRIGATION PROJECT – FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT: DESIGN, SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF DRIP & SPRINKLER IRRIGATION SYSTEMS – BID NO: 3/2023” and placed in the bid box available at Reception of Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl. No faxed, emailed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted.
The following documents (including fully completed and signed CBD forms numbered 1 to 5.1 as supplied) must be valid for a period of 90 calendar days after closure of the bid and submitted as a bid packet:
