GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The works, as described, are part of the Agri-Processing programme of the Department of Agriculture Western Cape. The project is situated in Eerste River in Cape Town. The quoted amount will be a lump sum bid and must include materials, labour, and machinery. The successful bidder must have the capacity to start the works within 7 (seven) days of appointment and complete the work within a maximum of 6 (six) weeks.

Conditions that may pose a risk: (Summary of Risk analysis)

Owing to the electrical component of this installation, the supplier must put all necessary precautions in place to work under these conditions.

The scope of works will include:

  • Supply and installation of a 2500mm (Height) x 2200mm (Width) x 2200mm (Length) cold room with a 900mm x 2000mm hinged type door.
  • Supply and installation of a refrigeration unit to the cold room in order to operate at 2°C.
  • Supply and installation of a digital controller to operate the cold room (temperature, on/off etc.).
  • Above installation must come with all necessary fittings; accessories such as cables, bolts, nuts and sealant etc. to complete the contract.
  • At least 1 year (12 months) warranty on all works & materials.
  • Supplier must conform to the design specifications as given in CBD 4 Scope of works.
  • Successful performance test must be done on completion before payment can be done.
  • COC certificate must be supplied on electrical installation.
  • Price to include all supply and installation costs.

Documents for the purpose of this bid include:

  1. Conditions to Submit Bid (Form CBD 2.1 (Lump Sum / Measured)) or Standard Conditions of Contract can be viewed on the Casidra website at Casidra.co.za
  2. Price Form, Bill of Quantities and Schedules (Form CBD 3.1 (Lump Sum/Measured))
  3. Scope of Works (Form CBD 4)
  4. PPP Evaluation Form (Form CBD 5.1 (80/20) / 5.2 (90/10))
  5. Bank Entity Form (Form CBD 7), unless the banking details of the company indicate “verified” on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
  6. Registration on the CSD for all suppliers is compulsory and registration numbers must be supplied.

In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, this bid as further indicated in CBD 5.1 is subject to:

  • A functionality compliance test;
  • B-BBEE certified bids will receive preferential scores;
  • Local production and content

This bid includes goods from a designated sector “Electrical & Telecom cables” and only locally produced goods, services or works, or locally manufactured goods with a stipulated minimum threshold for local production and content will be considered. SBD 6.2 and Annex C, D and E documentation apply and must be completed and handed in with this bid.

The successful bidder will be required to fill in and sign a written Contract Form (CBD 8). Included is a penalty clause of R 500.00/calendar day that apply for late completion of works.

BID DEADLINE:  The closing date for the bid is 29 March 2023 strictly at 12H00.

All RFQ documents to be uploaded onto the Casidra RFQ/Tender portal. No e-mailed or hard copy documents will be accepted.
