RFQ: INSPECTION AND ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF ORCHARD BLOCKS ON THE FARM ANHALT (8/230)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Anhalt 8/230 (C0770000000002300000008) is situated in the Langkloof, in a town called Haarlem. The farm consists of 75.76ha of fruit, with 54.57ha of apples and 9.07ha of pears. Additionally there are 5ha of non-bearing apples and 8.84ha of non-bearing pears.
The farm is part of the TRANCRAA process and has been transferred to the community. The CPA manages the farm on behalf of the community and consists of a board.
Due to financial constraints, the farm has reached out to the Department of Agriculture to assist in determining if certain blocks and cultivars on the farm is still economically viable.
An orchard assessment by an independent pomologist to determine economic viability of specific blocks as listed are requested:
- Block 8: Pink Lady, Granny Smith, Goldens, Royal Gala, Top Red
- Block 11; Top Red, Granny Smith
- Block 12: Top Red, Granny Smith
The scope of works will include:
An orchard assessment by a suitably qualified independent Pomologist to determine economic viability of specific blocks as listed below is requested:
- Block 8 – Pink Lady, Granny Smith, Goldens, Royal Gala, Top Red
- Block 11 – Top Red, Granny Smith
- Block 12 – Top Red, Granny Smith
The following should be noted:
- The farm is part of the TRANCRAA process and has been transferred to the community.
- The CPA manages the farm on behalf of the community and consists of a board.
- Only Blocks 8, 11 and 12 will be assessed.
- The preferred service provider must be in possession of a minimum NQF 7 qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.

- Price Form, Bill of Quantities and Schedules (Form CBD 3.1 (Lump Sum/Measured))
- Scope of Works (Form CBD 4)
- PPP Evaluation Form (Form CBD 5.1 (80/20)
- Bank Entity Form (Form CBD 7), unless the banking details of the company indicate “verified” on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
- Registration on the CSD for all suppliers is compulsory and registration numbers must be supplied.
In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, this bid as further indicated in CBD 5.1 is subject to:
- B-BBEE certified bids will receive preferential scores;
The successful bidder will be required to fill in and sign a written Contract Form (CBD 8).
RFQ DEADLINE: The closing date for the request for quote is 05 August 2022 strictly at 12H00.
SUBMISSION OF RFQ
RFQ documents must only be emailed and the below process MUST be followed regarding email submissions:-
- Bids are to be emailed in PDF format.
- Bids are only to be sent to following email address: aphilander@casidra.co.za
- Bidders to note that the maximum size of mailbox to receive a document is 8Mb. (Only send what is asked for. Do not sent Health & Safety plan for example, as it is not called for in the tender document)
- Casidra will not be responsible for bidders’ internet connections, mailbox issues, etc.
- The closing date and time is specific and any emailed bids past the submission date will then be considered as late bids. Bidders should therefore submit bid documents timeously to allow for the delivery time lag of emails.
The following documents (including fully completed and signed CBD forms numbered 1 to 5 as supplied) must be valid for a period of 60 calendar days after closure of the bid and submitted as a bid packet:
