RFQ: GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT: RAINWATER HARVEST TANKS 2022: INSTALLATION OF RAINWATER HARVESTING SYSTEMS WITH 1 500, 2 500, 1 890, 5 000 and 10 000 LITRE WATER TANKS

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The works, as described, are part of the Breede Gouritz Catchment Management Agency programme of the Department of Agriculture Western Cape for the Garden Route and Little Karoo District. The quoted amount must include Labour to do the job required, Tools and Transportation of the material and water tanks from the storage place / site to all the households. The sites are situated at (Bitou Municipality) Plettenberg Bay, Knysna and Rheenendal (George Municipality) George, Herold, Uniondale and Avontuur in the Western Cape Province. The successful bidder must have the capacity to start within 7 (seven) days calendar after receiving the order and complete the work within 40 (Forty) calendar days after start date.

Casidra will only pay for work done by the constructor, no upfront payments will be processed. Once-off payment will only be done when the job is 100% complete and quality checked in all the sites. There will be no separate payment for transportation and labour.

Casidra reserves the right to accept parts of the bid items or split bids based upon item prices (each area will be evaluated independently).

Conditions that may pose a risk: (Summary of Risk analysis)

  • Exposure to elements (sun, cold and dusty conditions);
  • Injuries due to the wrong usage of tools and PPE;
  • Back injuries due to lifting heavy objects and digging trenches.
  • Due to work requiring climbing of ladder, will height also pose risk
  • Attack by domestic animals.

The Contractor must put all necessary precautions in place to work under these conditions and prepare the site with the correct falls.

The scope of works will include:

  1. Collection of water tanks and material at above mentioned area.
  2. Installation of rainwater harvesting systems for 75 households as per CBD 4

Please take note of below storage areas to assist with accurate calculations:

  • Tanks and Material for Plettenberg Bay will be stored in Thusong Centre at Kwanokuthula
  • Tanks and Material for George will be stored in New Dawn Park
  • Tanks and Material for Knysna will be stored in Storage municipality at Knysna industrial area
  • Tanks and Material for Rheenendal will be stored in Rheenendal Primary School
  • Tanks and Material for Herold, Uniondale and Avontuur Anhalt Farm, outside of Haarlem.

Documents for the purpose of this bid include:

  2. Price Form, Bill of Quantities and Schedules (Form CBD 3.1 (Measured)
  3. Scope of Works (Form CBD 4)
  4. PPP Evaluation Form (Form CBD 5.1 (80/20)
  5. Bank Entity Form, unless the banking details of the company indicate “verified” on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
  6. Registration on the CSD for all suppliers is compulsory and registration numbers must be supplied.

In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, this bid as further indicated in CBD 5.1is subject to:

  • a functionality compliance test;
  • B-BBEE certified bids will receive preferential scores;

RFQ DEADLINE: The closing date for the request for quote is 28th February 2023 strictly at 12H00

SUBMISSION OF RFQ All RFQ documents to be uploaded onto the Casidra RFQ/Tender portal. No e-mailed or hard copy documents will be accepted. NOTE TO BIDDERS: Bidders are required to ensure that electronic bid submissions are done at least a day before the closing date to prevent issues which they may encounter due to their internet speed, bandwidth or the size of number of uploads they are submitting. Please do not wait for the last your to submit. A bidder can upload 30MB and up to 10 documents per upload and multiple uploads are permitted.
