RFQ: ORANJEZICHT PROJECT – CONSTRUCTION OF A GABION RETAINING EMBANKMENT

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

A service provider with proven knowledge and expertise in gabion retaining wall construction is required to construct a retaining embankment.

Conditions that may pose a risk: (Summary of Risk analysis)

The contractor is to put all the necessary precautions in place to work on a stabilization construction project on an embankment.  

The scope of works will include:

1. Construction of a retaining structure using gabions in Oranjezicht, Cape Town.

Documents for the purpose of this request for quotation include:

1. Price Form, Bill of Quantities and Schedules (Form CBD 3.1 (Measured))
2. Scope of Works (Form CBD 4)
3. PPP Evaluation Form (Form CBD 5.1 (80/20))
4. Local Content Declaration Form (SBD 6.2)
5. Registration on the CSD for all suppliers is compulsory and registration numbers must be supplied.
6. Gabion Specification required for this project.

In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, this bid as further indicated in CBD 5.1 is subject to:

• a functionality compliance test;
• B-BBEE certified bids will receive preferential scores;
• Local production and content

This bid includes goods from a designated sector 1) Steel products and only locally produced goods, services or works, or locally manufactured goods with a stipulated minimum threshold for local production and content will be considered. SBD 6.2 and Annex C, D and E documentation apply and must be completed and handed in with this bid.

The successful bidder will be required to fill in and sign a written Contract Form (CBD 8). Included are a penalty clause of R 500/calendar day that apply for late completion of works and a 10% retention fee for 3 months not bearing interest.

There is a compulsory site meeting on 12 May 2022 at 13:00 at the Oranjezicht Garden, GPS Co-ordinates: 33°56’32.1″S 18°24’53.0″E

SUBMISSION OF BIDS

RFQ documents must only be e-mailed, and the process below must be followed:

• Bids to be e-mailed in PDF format.
• Bids to be e-mailed to the following e-mail address: mpienaar@casidra.co.za
• Bidders to note that the maximum size of our mailbox is 6 MB.
• Casidra will not be responsible for bidder’s internet connection, problems with e-mails, etc.
• This bid has a specific closing date and time. Any submissions that reach our mailbox after this time will be considered as late, regardless of the time it was sent. Therefore, please submit bids timeously.
• Bids must be e-mailed with the following heading: “RFQ: ORANJEZICHT PROJECT – CONSTRUCTION OF A RETAINING EMBANKMENT”.

No faxed, counter-to-counter or posted bids will be accepted.
