GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The works, as described The farm Klein Morgenwaght is situated ±14 km south from the town Malmesbury along the R302. It is an instream dam located within an unnamed tributary of the Diep River catchment area in the Western Cape winter rainfall region.The bid will be a measured bid for the works described and is to include material, labour and machinery. The works must be completed within a 4-month (definition as defined further) contract period.

The scope of works entails the repair of the embankment plus enlargement of the spillway after recent flood damage of the existing Morgenwaght Dam located on the Remainder of the farm Klein Morgenwaght 882, Malmesbury District as a straight aligned earthfill embankment including related sub-structures with regard to the spillway and outlet works.

Bidders must have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 3 CE or higher.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as “BID NO RE-INVITE: 24/2024 – EMERGENCY REPAIR WORK FOR FLOOD DAMAGE TO KLEIN MORGENWAGHT DAM NO. 882 MALMESBURY: CONSTRUCTION REPAIR OF THE EMBANKMENT PLUS ENLARGEMENT OF THE SPILLWAY” and placed in the tender box available at Reception, Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl. No e-mailed, faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted.

There will be a compulsory site meeting. The meeting will be held at the Klein Morgenwaght Farm, 882, Malmesbury on 8th May 2025 at 11:00.
