GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The works, as described, is part of the Disaster Management Programme for the Keurbooms River situated 6 Kilometre north of Swellendam, Western Cape. The bid will be a measured bid for the works described and is to include material, labour and machinery. The works must be completed within a 11-month (definition as defined further) contract period.
The scope of works entails the construction of 21 (twenty-one) gabion structures (groynes) in the Keurbooms River over an approximate distance of 1260 metres.
Bidders must have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 6 CE or higher.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as “RE-INVITE BID 11/2026 CONSTRUCTION OF EROSION PROTECTION STRUCTURES IN KEURBOOMS RIVER, SWELLENDAM” and placed in the tender box available at Reception, Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl. No e-mailed, faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted. It is preferred that bid document must be bound. Casidra cannot accept responsibility for lost single or stapled pages.
There will be a compulsory site meeting. The meeting will be held at the Department of Agriculture Swellendam office (including the Boland State Veterinary Office) which is located at Boland State Veterinary Office at 67 Voortrekker Street, Swellendam on Tuesday 13 October 2026 at 11:00. Please take note that bidders not attending the compulsory site meeting will not be eligible to submit a bid. A locality map (pdf format) with directions to the site is available on request.
